Mod management + platform
Nexforge
A native mod manager carrying the halted Nexus Mods Linux effort forward with substantial Creation Engine support, first-class Linux/Proton handling, and a serious diagnostics surface.
The project
Finish the work the platform still needs.
Nexforge continues the useful part of the archived NexusMods.App codebase: a native desktop surface for managing real game files, loadouts, installers, and launch environments. The inherited architecture is only the starting point. The work now lives in the game providers, Linux paths, safety boundaries, diagnostics, and day-to-day workflow polish.
Creation Engine support is the centre of gravity. Skyrim SE and Fallout 4 have game detection, load-order handling, an in-house FOMOD path, INI management, and script-extender compatibility diagnostics. Existing support brought forward from the previous repository includes Cyberpunk 2077, Stardew Valley, and Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord. Bannerlord 2 was already close to completion, and Nexforge carries that work forward alongside launcher, module-state, installer, manifest, and launch-argument hardening.
- Skyrim SE and Fallout 4 load-order and INI workflows
- In-house FOMOD installation with recorded choices
- xEdit conflict, missing-master, and external-drift diagnostics
- Script-extender version checks for SKSE64 and F4SE
- Linux and Proton path, launcher, and Steam install handling
- Protected-content, backup, rollback, and sync safety work
- Carried-forward Bannerlord 2, Cyberpunk 2077, and Stardew Valley support
- Readable, reduced-motion, high-contrast, and low-spec UI modes
Active development at v0.5.2. A substantial amount of the halted Linux app's foundation and Creation Engine work is now implemented, but Skyrim and Fallout 4 mod installation remains an active work area rather than a finished 1.0 replacement.
